8 Health Benefits of Cold Showers
Taking cold showers may not sound very inviting, but the health benefits, including increasing testosterone, may be worth it.
I am now at one year of cold showers. I celebrated with some champaign in a cold shower this morning (ok, not true, but I enjoyed how it sounded when I read it aloud). I never thought I’d be one to take cold showers, at least not for one year straight. I was always one that hated the cold. I like the blazing hot summer. I hate cold offices. I hate cold oceans (sorry Los Angeles, even in the summer your too cold for me). And I hate cold weather. But things changed about a year ago and the unexpected benefits have been not only surprising, but awesome.
First, it should be noted, I didn’t start cold showering because I read an article like this. Instead, it was because I have some eczema type stuff on my skin and I was looking for solutions. One touted solution, above all other solutions, was cold showers. The cold shower, in a way, was simply avoiding the hot shower which “can” exacerbate skin issues. So to start, I began taking room temperature showers. I noticed the skin issues got better, so, I reasoned that a colder shower could help more. And so I ended up taking cold showers.
